Barracuda Networks Acquires Yosemite Technologies; Integrates Popular Yosemite Backup Software with Barracuda Backup Service

Campbell, Calif., Jan. 27, 2009 – Barracuda Networks Inc. today announced
it has acquired Yosemite Technologies, a leading provider of data backup and
disaster recovery solutions. Barracuda Networks has incorporated the Yosemite
Backup technology in its Barracuda Backup Service providing complete Microsoft
Exchange, Microsoft SQL, and Microsoft Windows state backup at no additional
charge.

Barracuda Backup Service with Yosemite Backup
The Barracuda Backup Service with Yosemite Backup ensures that customers have a
complete and affordable backup and disaster recovery solution for all
applications including Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL Server. In addition
the integration supports the backup and restore of Microsoft Windows system
state including the Windows registry and “Bare Metal” restores when used with
locally attached removable media storage.

- onsite backups for the fastest restore times and secure offsite storage for
disaster recovery. Barracuda Backup Subscription plans provide diverse offsite
storage at affordable monthly fees and scale to meet increasing data
requirements. The Barracuda Backup Server is a powerful appliance installed
onsite to provide full local backup of current and historical data, high backup
performance and fast network-based local restores. The Barracuda Backup Server
also de-duplicates data at the origin to minimize the unnecessary storage of the
same file, while providing efficient and secure offsite transfer using
compression and encryption.
The Barracuda Backup Service with Yosemite Backup is now available to customers
in North America at no additional charge.
Barracuda Networks to Launch BarracudaWare
In addition to the immediate availability of Barracuda Backup Service with
Yosemite Backup, Barracuda Networks has also acquired the full Yosemite
Technologies product portfolio, including Yosemite Backup and Yosemite
FileKeeper. Barracuda Networks will continue to sell and support the Yosemite
products as part of its new BarracudaWare software group.
