Rackable Equips Third-Largest Online Social Networking Site with Innovative
and Eco-Logical™ High Density Servers
FREMONT, Calif., March 3, 2009 — Rackable Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: RACK), a
leading provider of Eco-Logical™ servers and storage products for medium- to
large-scale data centers, today announced that myYearbook.com, the third largest
social network in the U.S, has adopted Rackable Systems' data center server
solutions to support its fast-growing web infrastructure.
Founded by two New Jersey high school students, myYearbook boasts year-over-year
growth of more than 250 percent, making the acquisition of scalable and
economical data center solutions a top priority. myYearbook chose Rackable's 44U
cabinets populated with Rackable C1002 half-depth servers to support its web
applications, which serve a user base of over 10 million.

more than 150 man-hours right there," said Jeremy Stinson, vice president of

configurations allowed myYearbook to quickly and easily double the number of
build-to-order servers it uses while simultaneously cutting overall power
consumption by half. According to Stinson, myYearbook also credits Rackable's
unrivalled thermal management efficiencies with reducing server temperatures by
more than 20 percent, even given that the company can now employ twice the
number of servers in the same physical space.
