Hosting News New Navigation and External Linking Functions Increase Ease of Use of Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 2008-10-03
Version 4.5 Enables Migration of Parallels SiteStudio Websites and User Data,
Supports New Platforms
RENTON, Wash., October 2, 2008 ? Parallels today announced the
introduction of two new modules in the latest version of its website building
application, Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5. The browser-based website creation
and editing application enables service providers using Windows, Linux or Unix
platforms to publish sites to a single server through a five-step wizard and 16
dynamic modules. Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5 also adds migration from
existing Parallels SiteStudio sites and additional operating system platform
support.
The next-generation software introduces two new modules: Sitemap and External
Page. Through the Sitemap and External Page modules, service providers will see
a dramatic increase in the flexibility of Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5. While
Sitemap aids in the ease of navigation within a site by allowing owners to
display a clickable, hierarchical model of their site structure to visitors, the
External Page module allows site owners to link menu items to external websites.
Users can now migrate all websites and user date into Parallels Plesk
Sitebuilder from Parallels SiteStudio, giving current SiteStudio customers
access to a more powerful wizard and over 500 quality templates.
Additionally, in order to provide all customers with the easiest way to build a
website, new supported platforms include: Windows Server 2008, Fedora 8, Ubuntu
8.04, and SuSE 10.3.
"This application enables our service providers to take website creation and
management to a new level with innovative features that improve ease of use,"
said Serguei Beloussov, CEO of Parallels. "By adding Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder
4.5 to their existing service offerings, service providers have the ability to
provide a more powerful, flexible and easier to use solution."
The new version of Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder is fully integrated with the
Parallels Plesk Control Panel and is available, along with over 170 applications
from the APS Catalog, to be included in service offerings. The APS Catalog is a
list of applications that comply with the Application Packaging Standard (APS)
used by ISVs and service providers to seamlessly integrate applications to offer
to more than 10 million businesses and individuals that use Parallels products.
Availability
The latest release of Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5 is now available for
purchase at the Parallels online store. Service providers with Software
Maintenance (SUS) can upgrade to Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5 by downloading
the new version for Linux/Unix or Windows.
