CINCINNATI (April 17, 2009) – Peak 10, Inc., the leading independent data
center operator and managed services provider, announced today the creation of
the Greater Cincinnati and Dayton Technology Assistance Program (TAP) in
conjunction with key local technology and business associations, to cultivate
business incubation in the region. The TAP program will provide essential
technology support and expertise to promising regional start-up companies.
The first 30 companies accepted into the TAP program will receive cabinet space
within Peak 10’s enterprise-class Cincinnati data center, enhanced power for
client hardware, highly redundant internet access, and IP addresses to run their
equipment in the data center. Peak 10 will waive any one-time or monthly
recurring costs for a 12-month period, a value of up to $5,000.
“We are thrilled to work closely with business and technology leaders in the
local community to offer start-up and early stage companies an opportunity to
get off the ground and grow,” said Ernest Leffler, vice president and general
manager of Peak 10 Cincinnati and founder of the Technology Assistance Program.
“This is a challenging economic climate for entering any industry, and we want
to offer all the support we can to help the Greater Cincinnati and Dayton
business economy continue to grow.”
Collaborating partners for the program include the Hamilton County Business
Center, the Greater Cincinnati Venture Association, BIOSTART, Northern Kentucky
ezone, C-Cap and The Entrepreneurs Center in Dayton Ohio. These supporting
organizations will engage eligible businesses through their member networks as
well as assist in the program’s qualification process.
“We are very excited that Peak 10 has organized the TAP program in an effort to
bolster our innovative businesses by aiding their competitiveness,” said Patrick
N. Longo, director of the Hamilton County Business Center. “This program’s
impact will be felt by local entrepreneurs and individuals seeking employment
from these start-ups who now have the option to take advantage of a technology
program fueled by Peak 10’s enterprise-class facility, support and technology
services.”
“Our region is a great area to launch a business, however the current economy
makes the undertaking challenging and requires even greater management of
costs.” said Joshua Johnson, founder and chief executive officer of Mindbox
Studios, a Hamilton County Business Center client and early adopter of the
program “Peak 10’s TAP program has afforded us the ability to leverage
enterprise-class computing facilities and services to help us build our client
base, and focus our efforts on growing our company and employee base in the
area.”
